We’re a non-profit role-play society based on the wonderful novel ‘The Host’, written by the lovely Stephenie Meyer. At the moment we’re trying out our legs, seeing if we really have the ability to stand. All semi literate to literate members are encouraged to join. We cant exactly ‘role-play’ without role-players, now, can we? There are a few ‘administrative’ type positions open, as well as plot ideas and helpful suggestions for expansion of the site. How’s that sound?
It’s been quite some time since the invading souls have taken over Earth. Many things have changed- for one, world peace has been achieved. The cost, however, took away the freedom of those living on Earth- the humans. The souls have taken over human bodies and pushed most of the bodies’ rightful owners aside into submission. There were a number of humans who fled into hiding, and awaited a day when there kind may either rise up against these invaders or the day when the last human fell victim.
Hope is burning brightly, though. The souls have proven weaker then originally thought, for human emotions are very strong. Many have produced offspring, human offspring, and more are deciding to keep these children human opposed to inserting another soul. Emotions are also causing many problems such as jealousy, lust, gluttony, greed, envy… Are such things too strong for these invaders?
There are also those who have ‘gone native’, and our now living amongst the humans and helping their cause. Many more souls have decided upon this course of action, growing to love the remaining original inhabitants of Earth. If a war were to break out, though, how loyal would these souls really prove to be?
All over the country there’s a hint of change in the air, from a crisp chill to impending promise of chillier weather.
Arizona-
Temperatures haven’t given much of a change as of late; the sun still rises and deals out his blistering heat.
Maine-
The first few flurries have been reported along higher elevations as well as inland, and the weather has been on and off again rain. Mixing with an icey slush. The dazzling display of patriotic New England leaves has long since reached peak, though there’s a carpet of crisp brown about everywhere one may tred. Animals are now up and leaving their summer homes, searching out more concealed locations for colder months. The hunting is good, for those who still concern themselves with such sport, and bird watching is a pleasure. Scarfs and mittens suggested, and stock up on your hot chocolate!

A Soul is a creature who gets inserted into different hosts, on different planets. Some things about souls. Souls by nature are sociable creatures, they lived and worked and grew together in harmony. Souls did not lie. Good citizenship was quintessential to every soul. All souls were basically the same. Peaceful, friendly, and honest. Choosing a planet to live on was a very personal and private choice for a soul. On every planet the life forms called "Souls" on Earth were called by many different names. Soul was an apt description for them on Earth- An unseen force that guides the body.
A soul will usually try out a planet or two, and then they'll settle in their favorite place. Two planets is the average but there are some that take three or four before they find a good fit.
It'd disorienting for a soul to move from one host body to the next, most souls dont like it. So when they find a species or a planet they like they will just move to another host within that species when the body gets close to death.
Hosts that were aware of the souls before insertion were more difficult to subdue. Some still resisted even after they had a soul inserted. Thats why they stopped using grown hosts.
COMFORTERS- Are psychologist and help new host get used to a new world and deal with the emotional aspects that go with that.
SEEKERS- Are the police. They tracked down unwilling hosts and captured them. The least civilized and least evolved souls would be drawn to the path of seeker.
A SKIPPER- Is the name given to those souls who do not complete a life term in there host.
MOTHERS- Only a few souls have the potential to be one.There are no surviving mothers, only the memories of them. There is only one Mother for evey five to ten thousand of there kind. They compare it to bee hives and ant colonies on Earth. One "queen" so to speak and many many others. Its done by the Mothers dividing up every cell and every cell becomes a new Soul. Each new Soul has a little bit of the Mother's memory, a piece of her that remains with the new Soul. Theres about a million or so cells. It’s a choice for a soul to assume the role of Mother. Its the only willing way that a Soul dies, to trade it's life for a new generation. The process is excrutiatingly painfully. The new Souls would be harmless without host bodies and would die quickly.
No Pain- No pain is a little strip of tissue like paper that is laid on the tongue and disolves on contact. Tastless, the strip releaves user of any pain.
Clean Inside- This pump spray is used near the patients face and is inhaled, tasting of mint. Kill all bacteria and otherwise harmful intruders that have entered a human body.
Clean Outside- Aerosal spry that is colorless, odorless and is sprayed directly onto wound. The spray would clean any infection within wound.
Heal- This clear liquid would be poured through a spout onto wounds, encouraging the tissue to rejoin and heal proporly.
Seal- Like glue, the seal aids the heal and is placed on to ‘patch’ things up in order for the heal to take effect.
Smooth- This faint powder has the capability of practically errasing scars when patted to the skin, though is only so effective- there will always be a slight dicoloration.
Cool- Cool, like no pain, is a thin strip of light blue paper placed on tongue. Once desolved, the cool should reduce fevers.
Awake- This inhalent spray, smelling of grapefruit, would awaken the inhaler and clear the head. This spray wears off within four hours.
